Greenwood Cemetery is located in the town of Hallock on the east side of town just south of the Two Rivers. It is a large Cemetery with an Index board that lists all the names including the plot location. A large map is provided to assist in the search and all the roads are makred with names. The index board is located on the south side and is hard to miss.

East Emmaus Church with the Cemetery in the distance on the right side.
The second photo shows the cemetery close up. From Halma go west on CR#7 for four miles on pavement then two more miles on gravel and the Church is on your right.

Pellan Pioneer Cemetery is located eight miles east of Karlstad on Hwy #11.
It sits back from the highway on your right side in some woods but the large overhead sign can be seen from the road. At the time I visited a volunteer crew was cleaning up the place. They cut the tall grass and weeds, cut back dead wood and uncovered many grave stones that were hidden under grass and dirt. It appeared the Cemetery had been abandoned for some time. I plan to return and obtain another photograph, including the sign that was to be repainted.

Deerwood Baptist Cemetery located 3 miles west of Karlstad on Hwy #11, left turn on 400th ave (gravel road) proceed for one mile then right on 110th for half a mile and it is on your right. Drive in on grass trail. The sign and the Cemetery has been neglected. The grass and gopher have taken over. The memorial stone below the sign lists the names of all buried on the site.

Tabitha Lutheran Cemetery

Tabitha Lutheran Cemetery was established abt. 1907 in North Red River Township in NW ¼ of section 35 along county road 10. The church was closed on 6 October, 1953. The cemetery is now cared for by the township.

The church is gone, the trees have died, and the brick marker is crumbling but the church bell still rests on the site with the following inscription:
“presented by Singel Johnson, Rena Johnson, Esther Johnson, Hilda Anderson, Clara Anderson, Jennie Anderson, Nancy Anderson, Girthy Nordberg, Mabel Jackson, Frances Jackson - Members of the willing helpers society of the Tabitha Lutheran Church – 1912. L. P. Lundgren, Pastor

KOMMEN OCK LÅTOM OSS GÅ UPP TILL HERRENS HUS - ES. 2:3.”
During the 2009 flood, the ice chunks knocked over two gravestones and did extensive damage to the brick wall by the bell.

Eidsvold Cemetery, located 1 3/4 miles south of Halma on CR#20. The cemetery is being enlarged by clearing brush in the woods to the back and to the south.
