I think that the M. is not Margaret, who was not a daughter of Daniel. Rather, it refers to Michael Needler Hayden, son of Daniel who was born 8-6-1854 and was married to Margaret. While his name…Continue

While the records show Daniel born in England, I believe he was born in Ireland to John and Ann Hayden. They (Daniel and brother David show up at ages 13 & 14 in England census of 1841 in a home…Continue

Our records show Daniel Hayden was born May 1828 in England. He was in Canada in 1861 and then shows up in a 1880 census in Thompson Twp, Kittson County. He died in Hazelton Twp, Kittson County 23 Mar 1904.
He was married three times. The first time to Marie before 1845 and they had seven children, all born in Canada.
His second marriage was to Sarah before 1878 and they had one child.
His third marriage was to Annie Clark, 3 Jul 1889 In Kittson County. No children.
We know of five Censuses that mention Daniel and once we get a moment to examin each one, we will report further. Please do not hesitate to ask specific questions as that will help direct our search for more information.
my understanding is it is daniel to fred (walker ) to everett to lloyd to david to me
Daniel Hayden had a son, Frederick W.Hayden, born 1862 and died 26 Nov 1941 in Kittson County. Fred had a son, Everett Lewis Hayden, born 4 May 1886 in Minnesota. Everett had only one son, as per our records, Freddie Hayden, born and died in 1906, so no children.
I am unable to make a connection to Lloyd or David.
Is the "fred (walker)" that you mentioned the Frederick W. Hayden I found?

The museum research department, and in particular Kathy Pederson, has been searching for information on the Daniel Hayden family. The above 1901 Hazelton Township map is a small part of the entire Kittson County map that hangs in the Museum research department. This is the oldest atlas of Kittson County that we have. Note the Hayden property in the lower left section of the township, in section 30. The south east quarter is in the name of Daniel Hayden, as is the east half of the north east quarter. The south west quarter of the section is in the name of M.Hayden. Daniel had a daughter named Margaret so he could have put it in her name. I do not know any other early family members who's name starts in M.
Kathy (research dept.) has found a number of obituaries of Daniel's children as well as a homestead document, which will follow shortly.
outstanding job thank you!!!!!
