I can't really read it very well, if you get a chance...can you tell me if it says Jerome Gabrielle or Gabriella J 13? That's my younger sister, she's burried with my grand-parents Edward & Elishia. Or if you could email it to me that would be good too. Thank you so much.

Hi Danielle, I have started an index to the burials at Greenwood with family information. The first name is Gaberiel Jerome. He is listed as Gaberiael Jerome in the MN death index. I have found other references to him and he is called Gabriel or Gabe. He was born 11 Oct 1904 and died 29 December 1971. The second name is Gabriella Jerome and she is buried in in J 13 with Elishia and Edward Jerome. I do not have any more information about her. Could you add her birth and death dates on this site and where she was born and died. I will add it to the Greenwood Cemetery Index which is available at the museum. Let me know if you need any more help.

Hi Danielle, I have posted the grave stone of your sister and your grandparents as you can see from the above photos. I also emailed you a copy of both photos so you will have them on your own computer. I hope you find them satisfactory.

Hello Marcy, the picture Glenn put up of my sister's grave stone just about says it all...Gabrielle Catherine Jerome, born: 11/25/1980 in Plymouth, MA, died: 08/09/1998 in Saint Petersburg, FL. Thank you.

Lon, Andre Jerome was born on December 14, 1829 according to the St. Boniface Church records as Ed Merck says. A fire destroyed the church in 1860 but this record is one that survived. Andre died on July 10, 1916 this can be found in the Kittson County death records. I have never been able to fine a birth record for Marguerite Gosselin, the record I have found only suggest she born about 1830. Marguerite Jeromes' obit. says she was born Oct. 16, 1832. Kittson County death record shows her death as March 31, 1914. I see according to Brownes' comments he is questioning the date Andre settled in Kittson County. Andre (Andrew) Jerome, per U.S General Land Office records, located in the Minnesota Historical Society, for the Crookston district named, Abstract of Preemption-Declaratory statements (v.3), is listed as having settled on May 3, 1872. and filed on July 24, 1874,for Lots 3, 4, 5, and SE1/4 NE1/4 and NE1/4SE1/4 of sec. 32 twp. 162 range 50W. Joseph Montrail Settled on May 20, 1866, Joseph Jerome settled on June 20 1869, Louis LaRocque settled on Oct. 13, 1866. This is what the land records show but the Metis have been here since the 1700. The Metis in general are the first settlers.

The index of those in the Greenwood Cemetery with the Jerome surname is a welcome addition to this discussion group, thanks to Glenn Browne. There are two wonderful Jerome ladies also buried there. Margaret Jane Jerome Merck (1901-2001) is buried there with her husband, Anthony J. Merck (1898-1964) and her son Anthony J. Merck, Jr. (1925-1943). Elizabeth Ann Jerome Younggren (1902-1995) is buried with her husband Clifford Axel Younggren (1888-1976). I suspect there may be other Jerome women among those buried in the Hallock cemetery; I hope someone will identify them here.

Sorry, I have a correction to my sisters dates, she died in 1995, not 1998 as I previously stated...Gabrielle Catherine Jerome, born: 11/25/1980 in Plymouth, MA, died: 08/09/1995 in Saint Petersburg, FL. Thank you.

Hello Everyone, I was so excited to see this site and to see more of my family members. I am Joe Jeromes oldest daughter. I was very touched to see the grave stones of my grandparents and my sister Gabrielle. Thank you Glen for that.
