As I mentioned six months ago, we started collecting a dollar from each person who attended our monthly Genealogy Association meeting that is held at the museum in Lake Bronson. Those funds have now reached $128.00 which indicates that in the last sixteen months 128 people have participated.

Because our members range in age and experience, thegenealogy topics at the meetings have been very wide ranging.  For some time now we have been considering organizing an introductory genealogy class for newbies.

On the 4th of March the Lancaster Lions club invited us to give a presentation relative to our Genealogy Association and the use of Family Tree Maker software. There was a great turnout of 37 people. During the course of the discussion we indicated that we would be willing to start a Genealogy group in Lancaster.  A number of people spoke with us following the meeting and indicated they were interested.

Within a week we had obtained the use of the Lancaster City Hall and had our first meeting with five new members. They were so enthusiastic we have been meeting every two weeks.  The last meeting was at the museum for a visit to the research department.

Each member contributes one dollar a meeting in order that we can generate some funds for future activities and equipment.  Each meeting is at least two hours in length so our program provided over 56 people hours of genealogy education to the community in the first two months.

This is very encouraging and consideration is being given to speaking to other groups in the county and introducing them to the Kittson Genealogy Association.

Hi Glenn...I don't know if you remember me but I won the award for coming the furthest for a meeting LOL :)  I have been searching for so long for information on Adolph Cleem/Cleemen and just a couple of weeks ago finally found a small connection.  Because you were so kind in trying to help me I wanted to let you know where I found it in case you might be able to find something there.  I actually googled his name and found a small article on the Warren Sheaf from April of 1905 where it said he was visiting his brother Herman :)  I bet they never thought this would bring such joy.  I still think Ernest Cleem in related but I am so happy to have found the above I need to just soak up that joy a little.  Best to all.  Georgine Cleem Whalen
