Glenn, thanks for this great site where we can share the past. I have been sorting through my parent's photo album and hope others will enjoy the pics.

Hi, I just joined this site and will send a donation tomorrow. I would like to know how to get any of the records birth, death of the Cleem family for any of the churches but I know that most went to the Episcopal church which your site says is closed and you hold these records. thanks so much for any help you could give me. I have many old photos of Cleem and Borgeson's from Lancaster Hallock that I will also submit. Maybe someone will know who they are where I only have first names on some.

I made a comment recently (today) about where to post photos, in the photo section or on a group page.
After thinking about it further I would like to point out that when you post photos in the photo section they can get lost in the hundreds of photos that have been posted and the many hundreds that can follow. Keep in mind that if you are interested in photos posted by one of our members you can go to their profile page and from there you can click on to their albumns and photos and easily locate them. If people add tags to their photos regarding the subject, then you can also search for them in the photo section. Any time anyone posts new photos they will appear under the new activity listing for a short while. Visiting the web page on a regular basis will help keep you informed about recent additions. Where ever you post photos please add a comment about the topic or event along with the date and people involved, if possible.

DONATIONS - this web page and the museum research department are ready and willing to search for information on your family members. We do not charge for searches or research. Having said that, we hear and experience situations for many places that have minumun charges of $40. to $50.00 to search for information. Some charge by the hour. While we are lucky to have a number of people who have stepped forward to buy new computers, microfilm readers, printers, copiers and other equipment for us, we are still working hard to make ends meet. I would like to make this suggestion. First buy a membership to the Kittson County Historical Association. It only costs $15. a year for an individual. You will then be on the mailing list for newsletters or reports. That way if you have the odd question you need help on it is no problem. If on the other hand you are in serious search mode and have lots of questions I would think a donation of ten or fifteen dollars would be fair and generous. You have to be the judge of what information you receive. Donate what you can afford and what you feel is fair.
Keep in mind that a membership to Ancestory.com, worldwide costs $300. a year. A microfilm reader costs thousands. Each microfilm costs money and we have over $10,000. worth. All of this is available to you through an email or a phone call. If you wish to add the museum to your will that would be nice. (smiling)
Any amount you can spare helps keep us going and is much appreicated. Also keep in mind that our entire county has less than four thousand people in it so our tax base is limited.

Sharon - I have checked with Cindy at the museum and she reports that the missing
Enterprise Newspapers were never submitted to the Minnesota Historical Society and thus no records. Cindy does have July of 87. Email her at history@wiktel.com with any enquiries you might have for that date.

Thank you for checking this out for me. If I come across anything in July of 1887, I will contact Cindy.
I purchased 6 rolls of microfilm from 1882 to 1900 approx with hopes of finding some mention of the family and noticed that those years were missing. I am enjoying reading these especially the 1880's papers, no mention of my family, but there are reports of people coming up to Canada to report on the building of our trans Canada railway.

Ancestry is a passion of mine. Being involved in my Family Tree sine 1990, I have compiled an extensive Family Tree for The Johnson's [Vic] and The Brown's [Lucille]. I use FTM 2011 now and have gone back to 1700's for The Johnson side. My email address for any info you want me to give you, and you have to give me is: gmdeez@charter.net. I welcome any and all info and photos for my trees. I am incorporating Lake Bronson, the Dam, and the State Park in the Johnson Family Tree and would appreciate any photos you have. Thanks alot.  :)

ATTENTION -  If you wish to get the most out of this web page, may I suggest you open a group in the name of a family member. If you have a grandfather who lived in Kittson County, AND, you would like to learn more about him and his family, click on the GROUP tab at the top of the page.  When the Group page opens, look for the "+add" words in the upper right hand corner of the group page.  When you click on the "+add" the next page will open.  Simply type in the person's name.  You have the choice of adding a photo of the person, or you can add it later. Do not worry about any of the other boxes at this time.  Simply scroll down to the lower right corner and click on ADD GROUP, and you are done.

Go back to the main page and then click on Group. Click to open your family page. People who are interested in following developments with regard to this person can join the page. Once a person is a member of a particular group they can add information or make comments.  This is a very simple process.  Do not hestitate to open a group page and we will  make an effort to research that name, for FREE.  Every member of the Kittson Historian can read all the comments. You can only add a comment to a group if you are a member of the group.  Glenn

Notice - Today a person by the name of Stephanie Assa joined our group and then proceeded to contact members in an unacceptable manner.  We acted at once and deleted her profile. We have been very lucky to have very little spam or pests like this. Any time you feel someone is acting improper please let us know and we will check it out.

Got the same email and thinking she might have some info I sent her an email from my gmail account. Wish I would have known about this. Thanks for getting on it, but maybe an email to all of us would have helped also. Anyone know what kind of spam and if I need to worry?

Jackie
