Recommending books!

I highly recommend the Vilhelm Moberg series of 4 books:  The Emigrants; Unto a Good Land; The Settlers; The Last Letter Home.  They are about Swedish immigrants who settled in Minnesota.  They are novels, but based on facts.  He points out when he takes iterary liberties. See More

Welcome Beverly. Do you mind telling us, say in a Blog, what connection you have to Kittson County. It is always nice to fit people into the families of the County.

Hi Beverly. Thanks for adding the profile photo. Of course I am assuming it is a photo of you and hope you have not just stolen a photo of some good looking woman in your area. (smiling)

The Museum is now on winter hours, 9 am to 5 pm each weekday and closed on the weekends. You could save a lot of your time if you establish just where your family members are buried, before you arrive. Make up a list of the people that you plan to look for and email it to the museum. They could check their records and tell you which cemetery they are buried in. If you know which cemeteries you wish to visit we can draw up a map for you with directions as to how best to make your tour. Email me at gbrowne@wiktel.com if you have any special questions.
