press 2

"This is the press that was used by the Karlstad Advocate until the late 1960's. It is difficult to tell how large it is in this photo, but it took up a large portion of the Advocate shop area."

Dan Nordine's Blog

We lost something along the way

This is a blog posting that I made on my brother dane II's blog site, The national party Times (http://danenordine.blogspot.com/2009/04/as-i-get-older-i-find-my-mood-tends-to.html). Dane allows me to ramble on about whatever comes to mind, and from time to time I find it a great release for what plagues my mind:

As I get older, I find my mood tends to swing more and more to the nostalgic. More "personal history" keeps popping up in my weekly newspaper column, I have gotten very… Continue

Good job Dan. You are a good promoter for this page and you will find it difficult to find another member who will top Roberta's photos. Please feel at liberty to try.

Dan, great ... Yes, as we get older the good ole times are more often talked about. I know that I live in the past almost daily, reflecting on my young days, the days of working at the Budget and Herald and later for your dad Dane at North Star News. I learned a lot, now retired since Dec. 30, 2011. Love it but still live in the past. Nostalgic pretty well sums it up Dan, we can share much, I know I am a prolific writer like my dad Vic; love it, never short on words to say as I write. Have done an Ancestry on my wifes two family sides, about 450 pages per Family. Have started my side, still working on it, yes, about 450 pages each side. That's me Ron Johnson [Vic and Lucille]. I don't have the gift to gab like my dad, but I do have the gift of pen as I do my Bible Studies, my daily love. Dan, you were great to work with, fondly remember you, Chuck and Perry and your mom and dad. >> Dan, I'm sure you are doing it, BUT write down your family history for your kids and grand kids, they'll love it and will carry it into their future.  ....   Ron [Ronald] Johnson
