82nd airborne

as i am not a veteran, i hope i am in proper place for this discussion. my cousin robert oral bushie son of albert and myrtle bushie robert was born and raised in caribou and badger minn was drafted about age 27 he was selected as weapons specialast in the 82nd airborne he always had a passion for guns he trained at ft bragg and i gave him a ride to ft lewis wa. he was to leave for viet nam the next day he  returned home on leave, i asked him how are things over there? he said the first day i…See More

metis cemetary

hellow friends my sister betty and i visited metis cemetary in about 1990 and seen bones shards of glass laying around, i put a few on monument and took photos later i found that john c boucher and wife viginia minnie buried an infant there in 1893 art. in grand forks herold sas church was blown to bits with cannon fire from hatches battalion during there occupation of pembina (1000 man army) ( see gen sibleys raid on pembina online) dennis b

"also there are several "indian" mounds or graves close to bouchers place near caribou one is clearly shaped like a turtle they are in wood so they are well protected i would like to see them preserved. any ideas? dennis bushie"

metis trappers and traders 1635-1996

I have spent many years studying my roots in fur trade the old bouchers were ship builders in normandy france and sailed to england about 1050 and on to ireland in about 1275 and made many explorations, by as old records show came to east american coast in1501 on fishing expiditions and were soon trading with natives for furs.by 1635 gaspard boucher brought his brother marin and son pierre to settle .pierre was about 15 and started studying under therecollects and later the jesuits he married a…See More

 I like the story my uncle albert bushie told me about he and my father when in 1930 there was no work they decided to jump on the rails and go around the country breaking horses for farmers and ranchers albert brought along a haircut kit and could get a meal or so cutting hair at hobo jungles and such my dad frank would find local bootlegger and buy a gallon or so and sell it by the drink at labor camps and such they rode the frieghts for 2 years or so when one wasnt broken up the other one…See More
