Hi Trish, Thanks for the head's up. Your flood pics are amazing! We had a flood (and pics) just like this in Oxford County Maine in 1936. I was listening to our local garden show this morning and for some reason, The host, Paul Parent uses a guy from Mn to screen the calls. He said you guys have "feets" of snow on the ground. We have very little snow in Northern New England.
Let me get back to the grindstone....... Jerry
Hi Trish, Welcome to the Kittson Historian and thanks for all your photos. Your St.Vincent Memories blog is a great site and I greatly enjoy it. We are not yet a year old so we have lots to learn and much to add. I hope you enjoy your move closer to your roots. Glenn
Hi Trish--Love reading your page but it is so hard to read the red on black--really have to squint my old eyes. Or is it just my computer that is acting up and not giving me the correct color scheme? Thanks, Louise Coffield
I was born and raised in Hallock. Ever since I was a kid, I've loved anything to do with local history. I wish there was a place like this website dedicated to Pennington county. Only place I know of is http://www.pvillage.org.
Yes, you're right about Pennington, that's about it. I encourage you to visit my website all about not only St. Vincent, but about many other places in Kittson County, as well as Pembina, and a bit about Emerson, etc. at St. Vincent Memories...
Paul, I was told the same, i.e., the owner had passed away. The person I wrote to was supposedly their child, who lives in the Twin Cities. When you speak with your parents, could you ask them if they know how to contact the child? I may have had an out-of-date address. I definitely would love to arrange a tour if and when they come up to Northcote again...Thanks much!
