I'm working on genealogy for Hans Anderson, I'm descended from his brother. I'm also working on Anna Svensson who married George C. Teien, Anna was Hans Anderson's niece through his sister Karna. I'm doing good on ancestry.com but I had some questions that maybe answered here better.
1. Anna father on her death certificate is Ole Swenson but my family paperwork says Sven (the Carpenter) does anyone have any ideas to her parentage?
2. Anna's death date on death certificate says 6 Sep 1940 but in a book written by her son it says " Mrs. Teien died in Poulsbo December 6, 1940, at seventy-four. For a number of years she had helped to operate the store at Robbin." What is her death date?
3. Who was Teien township named after? George Teien or his brothers? I read several newspaper articles that said Mr. Teien who Teien, Kittson, Mn is named after is passing through town would that be George?
4. I'm assuming that Anna stayed at her uncle Hans house between 1889-1893 is there any record of her immigrating or between 1887 and 1889. or her life before she married George Tien on 27 May 1893?
Thanks for any help.
ROBBIN, a post office in sections 20 and 29 of Teien Township, 1892-1933, the first postmaster being George C. Teien, brother of Andreas C. Teien for whom the townshipwas named. George came to the United States from Drammen, Norway, in 1865, opened a general store, and named the post office for the bird with a slight change in spelling.
TEIEN, organized April 5, 1882, was named for Andreas C. Teien, an early Norwegian homesteader in section 4. A post office was in sections 15 and 16, 1886-1903.
