Kittson profiles and photos from the past and present
This is the old Swedish Lutheran Church in Karlstad, which is now Bethel Lutheran Church. It was the church may family attended and I was confirmed there. As with many of the old photos that have been scavenged from old North Star News files, this did not have a date on it. If you look to the right in the photo you can see another building in the background. I don't know what the original name of the place was, but I first knew it as the Nordin Hotel, and they served the best hot beef sandwiches and homemade brownies anywhere. I remember running up a charge account there for brownies that were consumed after school, and each Friday I had to take my hard-earned 50 cent wage and give 30 cents of it to Bill Nordin to cover the account. It was worth it, though.
