The book press used to print the Karlstad Advocate and the early copies of the North Star News. The press would print two pages at a time, which were then turned over, and the other side of those two pages were printed. Once all the pages were in print, a whole crew would come into the office on Wednesday afternoon and all of the papers were folded by hand, addressed by hand, and mailed to subscribers. I ran this press much of the time, and really enjoyed it because I could get out of school on Wednesday afternoons to help out.
