metis cemetary

hellow friends my sister betty and i visited metis cemetary in about 1990 and seen bones shards of glass laying around, i put a few on monument and took photos later i found that john c boucher and wife viginia minnie buried an infant there in 1893 art. in grand forks herold sas church was blown to bits with cannon fire from hatches battalion during there occupation of pembina (1000 man army) ( see gen sibleys raid on pembina online) dennis b

metis trappers and traders 1635-1996

I have spent many years studying my roots in fur trade the old bouchers were ship builders in normandy france and sailed to england about 1050 and on to ireland in about 1275 and made many explorations, by as old records show came to east american coast in1501 on fishing expiditions and were soon trading with natives for furs.by 1635 gaspard boucher brought his brother marin and son pierre to settle .pierre was about 15 and started studying under therecollects and later the jesuits he married a… Continue
