Katharina Hoffman from Norway recently Googled Teien township, which is in Kittson County. She learned about this web page and she became a member. Go to her membership page to read the details.  She then asked us for help in finding out information on her great grandfather Clarens Einar Pederson.

We in turn phoned Marcy Johnson as she has a great deal of experience with county church records. Marcy agreed to check her records and said she would email us back with the information.

Her email reply started out with - "You won't believe this but that is my family!

It turns out that Katharina Hofman's great grandfather's mother had a brother Adolph Mathison and he is Marcy's great grandfather. Enclosed was a photograph of  Adolph, his wife, and his family. Included in the photo is Marcy's grandmother Marie.

A copy of Marcy's email and photo has been forwarded to Katharina and they will soon be in direct contact.

Once again the web page proves its worth.  This is another example that your donation to keep the kittsonhistorian active, is worth every penny.
